Creativity

Quote: If you want to be creative, don't try to do something new. Doing something new means not doing what's been done before, and that's a negative impulse. Negative impulses are frustrating. There the opposite of creativity, and they never yield good ideas -- not even in business or technology.

Build Your Own Power Spot
by Jan Tincher

Do you wish you felt more confident?

Imagine stepping into the room for your big job interview. Are you confident? How about when you make your cold calls? Or when you meet people who challenge you? What happens when you are with authority figures? Wouldn't it be great to have more confidence during all of those times? Well, you can when you build your own power spot! Here's how you do it:

Stand up and look at the floor in front of you. Imagine a bright red circle about 24" in diameter right in front of your feet.

Now . . . remember a time you were very successful. TIP: If you can't actually remember a time, then imagine or pretend you remember a time.

Feel, see, breathe that success . . . and imagine how it feels to be even more successful. Feel, see, breathe THAT success. Now . . . think of a time you were very confident. Feel, see, breathe that confidence . . . and imagine how it feels to be even more confident. Feel, see, breathe THAT confidence. Now . . . think of a time you were very happy. Feel, see, breathe that happiness . . . and imagine how it feels to be even happier. Feel, see, breathe THAT happiness. Now . . . think of each of those three times simultaneously.

When you are feeling completely successful, completely confident, completely happy, step into that circle. Feel those feelings again, and enhance them.

Now . . . step out of that circle, leaving the feelings there.

Now . . . step to the side of that circle and recreate those feelings again.

Now . . . step into the circle. Feel those feelings.

Now . . . step out of the circle and leave the feelings there.

Now . . . sit down and relax.

Now . . . stand up and step into the circle. Feel those feelings coming into your body, starting with your feet and working their way up? Doesn't that feel successful? Don't you feel extremely happy? If not, then start all over again and do it until you do.

Congratulations! You've just built your own Power Spot! Now . . . imagine standing in your Power Spot just BEFORE you step into the room for your big job interview, just BEFORE you make your cold calls, just BEFORE you get together with people who challenge you, just BEFORE you deal with things that give you stress, just BEFORE you get into feeling depressed, just BEFORE you meet with an authority figure, just BEFORE you go to the grocery store to buy sensible groceries.

Feel your Power! Pass it on.
